European Committee Decisions

 

Committee meeting of the European Brown Swiss Federation
Ashbourne (UK), 7th April 2011

1) The UK delegation presented a full Report on the Brown Swiss bred in the UK. The European committee decided to support the promotion of the Dairy Event on 6th and 7th September in Birmingham also with the presence of an official Federation booth  
2) The 2010 Balance and the 2011 Budget have been approved  
3) Intergenomics: the project now is moving to service. The Federation is now working on a new set of agreements to be signed with Interbull  
4) The Federation was one of the official partners of a project presented following a Eu research call on bovine genome sequence. The final outcome of the call will be available probably before the summer. The project called "Gene2Farm" is the first example of direct involvement of the federation in fund raising in the research field  
5) The committee has been updated about the work done at working group level. The list of the working group active at the moment includes: Genetic disease data base, Coordination of Linear type scoring, Coordination of international judges, European Newsletter, Website development and improvement  
6) Next meetings:  
- Eurobrune, Clermont Ferrand (F), 5-7 october 2011. The Federation confirmed the general will to organize the next Eurobrune in France, after having checked the feasibility given health rules
- Weltkongress 2012 in San Gallen (CH). The congress general program has been discussed and approved. Everything seems to be almost ready for a memorable event
- European Congress 2014 in Germany. Great expectations also for the next European event back in Germany after some years
7) Next Committee meeting will be in Clermont-Ferrand on occasion of Eurobrune 2011  

 

The Committee presented the nominee to honorary member of the European committee to Hans Mair, former president of the ARGE-Braunvieh Österreich, with the delivery of a honor plaque.
President Mair has been “for years as president of the ARGE-Braunvieh Österreich strong supporter of the improvement and the promotion of the Brown Swiss breed in Europe and in the world”.
